Why Learn Languages (Intercultural Exploration)

It’s important to learn different languages, because you’ll be able to communicate with others better.

Sometimes I like to go to the Asian market because I like their food. If I know the language I’ll be able to ask more questions about the foods that are are there that I might want to try.

If there’s a mid understanding about the price of something I can speak clearer if I know their language.

One time I broke down in an Asian market parting lot and I tried to explain to a Chinese worker a two truck would be there in a few hours.

It was a very difficult conversation and finally through a lot of hand signals and pointing the lady finally understood. If I had know the language it would have been a lot easier to communicate to her.

Learning different languages brings people closer together too. When someone sees that you know their language the person might feel you care enough to come into their turf and learn about them.

There’s a lot of misunderstandings even about cultures, learning a language you can understand a culture better.

There’s lots of different job opportunities out there for people too and some require learning a different tongue, by learning a different language it expands your job opportunities.

When you travel to a specific country that is outside your native tongue and you have questions in that country, if you know the language you’ll be able to get around better and find things you need.

Learning another language is very beneficial and especially if it’s a country you might want to visit in the future.

There have been studies done about learning another language too. The studies show that you have better memory and recall of things.

I believe this is true because my older sister has a photographic memory for a lot of things. She currently speaks Japanese for the last 45 years.

I’m excited to learn Japanese too.
